How long does it take to make a custom dress?

Depending on the complexity of your design, a typical time frame is 4-8 months. If you would like matching dresses for your bridesmaids, please book at least 12 months in advance.

What should I expect during a consultation?

Your private 1-hr consulation is the perfect place to gush about the bride you’ve always wanted to be. Share your inspiration photos, chat about design details and we’ll sketch your vision to life. Virtual consultations are also available to suit your busy schedule.

Do you make hijab wedding veils?

Yes! At Jamillah Bridal, we support brides from every culture. We specialize in creating hijab-friendly soft veils that are comb-free and easy to pin on. View more of our designs in our Gallery.

Do You Make Mother-of-the-Bride / Groom Dresses?

I found a dress online, can you make a copy?

Every dress is unique. While you can find inspiration from photos you love, we do not replicate other designs or designers.

How many fittings do I need before I can retrieve my gown?

In order to get the sizing just right, we require at least 2-3 fittings. Once your gown is complete, grab your besties to enjoy a special final fitting to celebrate your gown!

How much should I expect to pay for my wedding gown?

Each of our custom wedding gowns are Bespoke and made-to-order in our Rockville, MD studio. Wedding gowns start at $2,000 and may range from $2,000-$10,000+ depending on the complexity of the design, time and cost of materials.

Can You Sew “Mommy & Me” Matching Dresses?

Yes, we can absolutely help you design children’s dresses that match thier mothers, aunties or grandmas! Book your appointment or contact us about bulk pricing.

What is the cost to get started?

After your free consultation, custom wedding gowns require a $500 deposit. Formal gowns, bridesmaid or evening gowns require a $200 deposit. This retainer fee goes towards the initial creation of your gown, from technical pattern design and construction, to the mock-up and sample fabrics. The deposit will go towards the final cost of the gown.

I’ve already purchased a gown, but I want to make changes. Can you add sleeves or change the neckline?

We specialize in modest alterations as well as custom designs. Bring your dress to a consultation and we will review what changes will make your gown just the way you want it. Click here to view our list of Bridal Alterations & Standard Alterations.

Do You Make Bridesmaid Dresses?

Of course. We can sew, alter or create couture dresses for all your bridesmaids. A retainer fee of $200 is required. Bulk pricing is available for your bridal party. Visit our Tailoring Page for more information about our custom gowns.
